Coenzyme Q10

Intramuscular therapy administered by a doctor

Support for cellular energy and mitochondrial function

Coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinone) is a substance naturally present in the body, with an essential role in energy production at cellular level and in antioxidant protection mechanisms. It is present especially in tissues with high energy requirements, such as the heart, the muscles, the brain and the liver.

How does it act?

Coenzyme Q10 is an important component of the mitochondrial respiratory chain, taking part in the production of ATP – the main source of energy of the cells. At the same time, it contributes to the protection of cells and mitochondria against oxidative stress.

CoQ10 levels may be influenced by age, certain conditions and drug treatments. Statins, for example, may reduce circulating concentrations of Coenzyme Q10.

Intramuscular administration

When may it be considered?

Injectable Coenzyme Q10 may be integrated, after medical assessment, into individualized protocols for:

Administration is carried out intramuscularly, within the clinic, under medical supervision. The dose and frequency of administration are established individually by the physician, according to the clinical context and the particularities of each patient.
