“To age beautifully and with dignity is, at the same time, a science and an art.” Acad. Prof. Dr. Ana Aslan
Geriatrics and gerontology form the medical specialty dedicated to understanding the aging process and the way it influences health and function.
Geriatrics addresses older people and aims to assess and manage age-related conditions through a comprehensive approach that includes health status, autonomy, function and cognitive status, by means of standardized geriatric assessment.
Gerontology, in turn, studies the aging process as a whole and allows it to be addressed from adulthood onwards, through interventions aimed at maintaining health and function.
“To be forever young does not mean being twenty; it means being optimistic, feeling well, having an ideal in life to fight for and to conquer.” Acad. Prof. Dr. Ana Aslan
This specialty therefore addresses both older patients and adults interested in assessing their state of health and supporting active longevity.
In certain situations, therapies with a long tradition in geriatrics may also be integrated, such as the Gerovital H3 protocol, as part of a personalized approach to the aging process.
At Maison Longévité Clinic, consultations are carried out by Dr. Mihaela Marinescu, specialist in Geriatrics and Gerontology.
Modern geriatrics does not wait for disease to appear. It means active prevention, understanding the mechanisms of aging and building personalized strategies for each patient. I believe in a medicine that intervenes in time and genuinely shapes the way we age.
