Therapies

In modern aesthetic dermatology, the approach to skin aging is not limited to correcting wrinkles or restoring volume. Increasingly, attention is turning to skin quality, tissue regeneration and the maintenance of the skin's properties over time.
Polynucleotides (PN) belong to this category of regenerative treatments. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, whose role may include restoring volume or contours, polynucleotides are used mainly for biostimulation and for improving tissue quality.
At Maison Longévité, polynucleotide treatments are integrated into the Skin Longevity concept, in protocols personalized according to skin quality, the area treated, age and the particularities of each patient.
Polynucleotides are molecules made up of chains of nucleotides, the structural components of DNA.
The products used in aesthetic medicine contain highly purified DNA fragments of natural origin, usually obtained from fish sources, including salmonid species.
Through their biological properties, polynucleotides are used to create an environment favorable to tissue regeneration and remodeling, with effects sought in particular on skin quality, hydration, elasticity and texture.
After intradermal administration, polynucleotides interact with the extracellular environment and may support processes involved in the regeneration of cutaneous tissue.
Experimental and clinical data suggest effects on fibroblast activity and on the remodeling of the extracellular matrix, as well as on skin hydration and elasticity.
Unlike treatments with an immediate volumizing effect, the action of polynucleotides is progressive, as the tissue responds to the biostimulation process.
Depending on the product, the area treated and individual particularities, the treatment may contribute to:
The area around the eyes is one of the first regions where the changes associated with skin aging become visible.
The skin is very fine, and loss of elasticity, fine lines and changes in texture may appear early.
There are polynucleotide formulations designed specifically for this region, which allow the quality of the periocular skin to be addressed without a primary volumizing effect.
The treatment may be considered when the objective is to improve the texture, elasticity and quality of the skin around the eyes, while preserving a natural result.
Polynucleotides may be used to improve skin quality on the face, neck and décolletage – regions where changes in collagen, elasticity and hydration become progressively visible with advancing age and through exposure to environmental factors.
The product, the concentration and the administration technique are selected by the physician according to the characteristics of each area.
There are also polynucleotide formulations designed specifically for administration to the scalp, used in protocols intended to improve scalp quality and support the health of the hair follicle.
Recent clinical data suggest a potential role for polynucleotides in androgenetic alopecia, with improvements reported in parameters such as hair density and hair shaft diameter.
Scalp treatment must, however, be preceded by an assessment of the cause of hair loss, since polynucleotides do not replace dermatological diagnosis, nor specific treatment when there is a condition responsible for the alopecia.
Depending on the indication, polynucleotides may be integrated into a personalized scalp protocol, on their own or in combination with other therapies recommended by the physician.
Polynucleotides are administered through microinjections, according to a technique and a protocol adapted to the product and the region treated.
Small papules may remain temporarily on the skin at the injection points, and redness, tenderness, slight edema or small bruises may appear.
These reactions are generally transient.
Treatment with polynucleotides usually involves a protocol of several sessions, since the effect sought is progressive.
The number of sessions and the interval between them are established by the physician according to the product used, the area treated, the initial quality of the tissue and the therapeutic objectives.
Maintenance sessions may subsequently be recommended in order to maintain the results.
At Maison Longévité, polynucleotides may be used on their own or integrated, where there is a medical indication, into personalized protocols that may combine different regenerative therapies and dermatological technologies.
Depending on the needs of the skin, these may include PRP, microneedling, photobiomodulation with Healite II, Morpheus8 or CO₂ laser, with the choice and sequencing of the procedures established individually.
The objective is the progressive improvement of skin quality, support for its regenerative capacity and the maintenance of a natural appearance over time.
The indication, the product used and the treatment protocol are established by the physician following consultation and individual assessment.
