Collagen biostimulators – the facial collagen network

Collagen biostimulation with poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA)

Sculptra is an injectable treatment based on poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which progressively stimulates collagen production and contributes to tissue remodeling.

Unlike classic hyaluronic acid fillers, Sculptra does not primarily aim to achieve immediate volume. The effect develops gradually, contributing to improved firmness, structure and tissue support.

Sculptra may be used for the loss of volume and the changes in contour associated with the aging process, as well as for improving the firmness and quality of the tissues.

On the face, the treatment may be used, depending on the indication, for the temporal region, the cheeks and the middle third of the face, the nasolabial folds, marionette lines and the chin region.

Depending on the indication, Sculptra may also be used in certain body areas, such as the décolletage, the arms, the gluteal region and the back of the thighs, in order to improve the firmness and quality of the skin.

The procedure

The treatment begins with an individual medical assessment, during which the anatomy, the distribution of volumes, the degree of laxity and the quality of the tissues are analyzed.

Sculptra is administered by injection into carefully established anatomical planes. The quantity of product, the areas treated, the injection technique and the number of sessions are established individually by the physician.

The results

The effects appear progressively, together with the stimulation of collagen production and collagen remodeling. The result develops over the weeks and months following the treatment.

The number of sessions and the interval between them are established individually, according to the indication, the characteristics of the tissues and the response to treatment.

Contraindications and precautions

The treatment is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, in the presence of an active infection or inflammation in the area treated, or in the case of a known hypersensitivity to the components of the product.

The presence of an autoimmune disease, in particular a systemic connective tissue disease, as well as the administration of immunosuppressive treatments, requires a careful individual medical assessment before the procedure.

Before the treatment, the medical history, the medication taken and any injectable procedures performed previously are assessed.

The treatment is performed exclusively after consultation and medical assessment. The indication, the areas treated and the protocol are established individually by the physician.
