Your Guide to a Longer, Healthier & More Active Life

by Maison Longévité × Maison Pilates

Medicine and movement for active longevity.

Longevity is a journey

Longevity is not only about living longer. It means preserving health, autonomy, strength, mobility and the ability to live the life we want for as long as possible.

The difference between lifespan and healthspan matters: what counts is not only the number of years, but how many of those years are lived in health and functional independence.

And this journey does not begin at a particular age.

It is built over time, through what we measure, what we prevent and what we do consistently.

MEDICINE × MOVEMENT × NUTRITION × SLEEP × MIND × CONNECTION

These are some of the key milestones of a journey toward a longer, healthier and more active life.

Know your starting point

Know where you are starting from

We cannot build a personalized strategy without knowing where we stand.

A health assessment may include, depending on age, medical history and individual risk factors:

Not all investigations are necessary for everyone.

In longevity medicine, assessment must be individualized.

What do you know today about your health?

Build & preserve muscle

Build and preserve muscle mass

Muscle is far more than an aesthetic component.

Muscle mass and strength contribute to mobility, balance, metabolic health and the maintenance of functional independence throughout life.

As we age, maintaining muscle mass and strength becomes increasingly important.

Include strength training in your routine, adapted to your fitness level and your state of health.

Work on:

Progress should be gradual and sustainable.

Longevity target

Include exercises for building and maintaining strength on at least 2 days per week, adapted to your capacity and your state of health.

As you age, pay additional attention to strength, balance and functional capacity.

Maison Pilates

At Maison Pilates, movement is seen as part of the strategy for health and longevity.

Built to Move. Designed to Last.

Move every day

Make movement a daily priority

Physical activity is not only the time spent training. How active you are throughout the whole day matters too.

Walking, everyday activities, time spent outdoors and breaking up long periods of sedentary behavior complement structured training.

Make walking a daily routine, spend time outdoors whenever possible, and include in your weekly schedule both aerobic activity and exercises for building and maintaining strength.

There is no step count that suits everyone. What matters is reducing sedentary time, progressively increasing your activity level and keeping movement a constant part of life.

Longevity target

For adults, a general benchmark is:

150–300 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity per week, or 75–150 minutes of vigorous-intensity activity, depending on individual capacity.

In addition, reduce sedentary time and bring movement into as many moments of the day as possible.

Consistency matters more than perfection.

Eat for longevity

Nutrition is one of the pillars of long-term health

There is no single diet that suits everyone.

An eating pattern oriented toward long-term health generally emphasizes:

Nutritional requirements change according to age, physical activity, body composition and state of health.

Do not forget protein

Protein is important for maintaining muscle mass, especially with advancing age and in combination with strength training.

Requirements must, however, be adapted individually, including according to your state of health and any existing conditions.

Longevity target

Build most of your meals around nutritious, minimally processed foods, with adequate sources of protein, vegetables, fruit, fiber and quality fats.

Nutrition for longevity means personalization, not universal rules.

Protect your metabolic health

Metabolic health is built before disease appears

Metabolic changes can develop gradually and may remain without obvious symptoms for a long time.

For this reason, depending on the individual profile, it is important to monitor parameters such as:

Movement, nutrition, sleep and the maintenance of muscle mass are important components of metabolic health.

Longevity target

Know your numbers.

Do not track weight alone. Monitoring metabolic health must take into account blood pressure, glucose metabolism, lipid profile, body composition and individual risk factors.

Optimal targets are individualized together with your doctor.

Measure. Understand. Act early.

Sleep to restore

Sleep is part of health

Sleep influences cognitive function, metabolism, emotional regulation and the body's recovery.

Sufficient, regular sleep is one of the fundamental components of long-term health.

Longevity target

For most adults, 7–9 hours of sleep per night is a general benchmark, alongside a regular schedule and sleep quality.

Sleep is not lost time. It is recovery time.

Protect your brain

Longevity also means cognitive health

Brain health is closely linked to the health of the whole body.

Physical activity, sleep, cardiovascular and metabolic health, cognitive stimulation and social interaction are important components of maintaining cognitive function throughout life.

Brain health is not separate from the health of the body.

Psychological longevity

Take care of your emotional balance

A long and healthy life cannot be reduced to tests and biomarkers.

Stress, relationships, life experiences and the way we manage emotions can influence well-being and the capacity to adapt.

Pay attention to:

Asking for help when you need it is part of caring for your health.

Longevity is physical. Cognitive. Emotional.

Connection matters

Relationships are part of health

Connection with others, close relationships, a sense of belonging and social participation are important components of well-being.

Make room in your life for family, friends, community, shared activities and real conversations.

Movement, too, can become a form of connection.

Reassess. Adapt. Continue.

Longevity is not a plan you make only once

The body changes. Test results change. Physical capacity changes. Priorities change.

For this reason, your health strategy must be reassessed and adapted periodically.

Measure. Compare. Adjust. Continue.

The goal is not perfection.

The goal is to identify early what can be improved and to build habits you can maintain in the long term.
